Kayamkulam Kochunni is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language epic period film directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby & Sanjay. It is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a famed highwayman who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor during the British Raj in the early 19th century Central Travancore. The film stars Nivin Pauly in the title role; Mohanlal makes an extended cameo appearance as highwayman Ithikkara Pakki.It got positive reviews from critics as well as audience and did performed average at the box office collecting 48 crores within a 45 crore budget. Principal photography commenced on 30 September 2017 in Udupi, Karnataka and was completed on 1 June 2018. Made on a budget of ₹45 crore, it is one of the most expensive Malayalam film. The film was released on 11 October 2018, it became the second highest-Lossing Malayalam film of all time.

Pottu (English: Vermillion) is a 2019 Indian Tamil horror comedy film, written and directed by Vadivudaiyan. The film features Bharath in the lead role, with Iniya, Namitha and Srushti Dange playing other pivotal roles. With music composed by Amresh Ganesh, the film is produced by John Max for Shalom Studios. Pottu is movie, following along the lines of this producer-director combo's earlier movie Sowkarpettai. The film was launched in January 2016, and released on 8 March 2019^. It is dubbed in Telugu and released on 8 March 2019 as Bottu and in Hindi as Bindi.The film opened to negative reviews.

Boomerang is a 2019 Indian Tamil action thriller film written, produced and directed by R. Kannan. The film features Atharvaa, Megha Akash and Indhuja in the lead roles, while Upen Patel plays an antagonistic role alongside Sathish, RJ Balaji, and Narayan Lucky in supporting roles. The music was composed by Radhan with cinematography by Prasanna Kumar and editing by R. K. Selva. The film released on 8 March 2019.

National Treasure is a 2004 American adventure film produced and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It was written by Jim Kouf and the Wibberleys, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Jon Turteltaub. It is the first film in the National Treasure film series and stars Nicolas Cage, Harvey Keitel, Jon Voight, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean, Justin Bartha and Christopher Plummer.
Cage plays Benjamin Franklin Gates, a historian and amateur cryptologist searching for a lost treasure of precious metals, jewelry, artwork and other artifacts that was accumulated into a single massive stockpile by looters and warriors over many millennia starting in Ancient Egypt, later rediscovered by warriors who form themselves into the Knights Templar to protect the treasure, eventually hidden by American Freemasons during the American Revolutionary War. A coded map on the back of the Declaration of Independence points to the location of the "national treasure," but Gates is not alone in his quest. Whoever can steal the Declaration and decode it first will find the greatest treasure in history.

Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (transl. A crowd that gathered by itself), is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language heist comedy film directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja. The film is an adaptation of the 2013 Hindi film Special 26, which was inspired by the 1987 Opera House heist in Mumbai. The film stars Suriya and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles, with a supporting cast including Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, Nandha, Kalaiyarasan, RJ Balaji, and Suresh Chandra Menon. The film's music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography performed by Dinesh Krishnan. The film had a worldwide theatrical release on 12 January 2018.

Captain Marvel is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Carol Danvers. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the twenty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet also contributing to the screenplay. Brie Larson stars as Danvers, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law. Set in 1995, the story follows Danvers as she becomes Captain Marvel after the Earth is caught in the center of a galactic conflict between two alien worlds. 

Development of the film began as early as May 2013, and was officially announced in October 2014, making it Marvel Studios' first female-led superhero film. Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve were hired as a writing team the following April after submitting separate takes on the character. The story borrows elements from Roy Thomas's 1971 "Kree–Skrull War" comic book storyline. Larson was announced as Danvers at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, with Boden and Fleck brought on board to direct in April 2017. Robertson-Dworet soon took over scripting duties, with the remainder of the cast added by the start of filming. Location shooting began in January 2018, with principal photography beginning that March in California before concluding in July 2018 in Louisiana. Jackson and Gregg—who, among others, reprise their roles from previous MCU films—were digitally de-aged in post-production to reflect the film's 1990s setting.




       

Oru Adaar Love (lit. A fantastic love) is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy film directed by Omar Lulu. The screenplay was written by Sarang Jayaprakash and Lijo Panadan from a story by Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under his production company Ousepachan Movie House. The film features Roshan Abdul Rahoof, Noorin Shereef, Charles george (Jacky),Rahul Raj(Maku),Priya Prakash Varrier, Siyadh Shajahan,Vaishak Pavanan and Michelle Ann Daniel in principal roles.
The story deals with high school romance. Oru Adaar Love gained nationwide attention due to a clip which went viral, from the song "Manikya Malaraya Poovi". It prompted the makers to make changes in script, which delayed production. The film was released on 14 February 2019. It was dubbed and released in Tamil with the same title, in Kannada as Kirik Love Story and in Telugu as Lover's Day

Vikram Vedha is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film written and directed by Pushkar–Gayathri and produced by S. Sashikanth under his banner Y NOT Studios. The film features R. Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi, Shraddha Srinath, Kathir and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Prem, Achyuth Kumar, Hareesh Peradi and Vivek Prasanna play supporting roles. Sam C. S. composed the soundtrack and score, while P. S. Vinod handled the cinematography. Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, the film tells the story of Vikram, a police inspector who sets out to track down and kill Vedha, a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself, he tells Vikram three stories which change his perceptions of good and evil.
In January 2015, Sashikanth revealed that he would be producing a film directed by the husband and wife duo, Pushkar and Gayathri. Following a year of development on the script throughout 2015, Madhavan and Sethupathi were selected to play the lead roles in February 2016. Principal photography started in November of the same year and was completed by January 2017. The film was shot mainly in North Chennai, with the area being used as its backdrop.

Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. is a 2018 biographical documentary film about English rapper and artist M.I.A.. Directed by Steve Loveridge, the film follows 22 years in the rapper's life, her rise to fame and her perspective on the controversies sparked over her music, public appearances and political activism.
The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and has appeared at several other international festivals since. It was released in select cinemas in the United Kingdom on 21 September 2018 and in the United States on 28 September 2018. The documentary was well-received, winning the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Steve Loveridge at the Sundance Film Festival.

Dha Dha 87 is a 2019 Indian Tamil language action romantic drama film written and directed by Vijay Sri G on his directorial debut. The film stars Kamal Haasan's elder brother Charuhasan and Keerthy Suresh's maternal grandmother Saroja in the main lead roles along with old known comedian Janagaraj in an important role. The film is touted to be a spiritual continuation to the 1988 film Sathya which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role. The film is also simultaneously dubbed in Hindi and the film is bankrolled by Kalai Cinemas. Leander Lee Marty has been roped into score music for the film. The film was released on 1 March 2019 and received extremely poor reviews from the critics due to its confusing plotline.
